Cloudflare Workers and Pages and Vercel Hobby are the best free hosts for an AI-built app; GitHub Pages suits static portfolios. Vercel Hobby is for non-commercial use only. Netlify's free plan pauses every site when its 300 monthly credits run out, Render's free web service sleeps and its free database expires, and Fly.io, Railway, Koyeb and Deno Deploy no longer give new users a usable free tier.
Exporting an app is easy. Keeping it online for free is where plans differ most, and several well-known hosts changed their free terms in 2025 and 2026. Here is what each one gives you today and what stops working first.

Hobby plan, non-commercialVercel Hobby
Hosts Next.js and Vite apps from GitHub with a preview link for every change. Free: 100 GB transfer and 1 million function calls a month. Hobby is for personal, non-commercial use: no payments, ads or paid client work.
Free daily limitsCloudflare Workers and Pages
Static sites and full-stack apps on Cloudflare's network. Static files are free and unlimited, Workers get 100,000 requests a day, and server code is capped at 10 ms of CPU per request. Custom domains are supported.
Free, 300 credits a monthNetlify
Static and serverless hosting. The free plan is 300 credits a month and a production deploy costs 15, so that is 20 deploys if you use nothing else. When the credits run out every site on the team is paused until the next cycle.
Free for static sitesGitHub Pages
Free static hosting from a repository, up to 1 GB with a soft 100 GB monthly bandwidth limit. No server code or database, and GitHub says it is not meant for running a business.
Free web service, sleepsRender
Web services and databases from GitHub. The free web service sleeps after 15 idle minutes and takes about a minute to wake. The free Postgres is deleted after 30 days, and free services cannot send email over SMTP.
Static free; others paidHugging Face Spaces
Hosting for machine learning demos. Static Spaces are free. Gradio and Docker Spaces now need a paid plan, except up to two ZeroGPU Spaces on free accounts older than 30 days.
Free for one yearFree .me and .tech domains (Student Pack)
Verified students get a free .me domain with an SSL certificate for a year and a .tech domain for a year through the GitHub Student Developer Pack. Renewals are at normal prices, and Indian college emails can go to manual review.
Free subdomainis-a.dev
A free yourname.is-a.dev subdomain for developers, claimed with a pull request to its GitHub repository. Read the repository's rules first; some names are reserved.

Get started this week
- Push your project to a GitHub repository.
- Connect the repository to Cloudflare Pages or Vercel and add your environment variables.
- Open the live link in a private window and fix anything that only broke after deploy.
How to choose
- If the app will take payments, show ads or earn for anyone involved, use Cloudflare rather than Vercel Hobby.
- Put the database somewhere that does not expire, such as Supabase or Neon, and keep only the code on the host.
- Add your own domain in the host's settings; Cloudflare Pages and Vercel both support it on free plans.
- Fly.io, Railway, Koyeb and Deno Deploy are not free for new users on 3 November 2026; do not plan a project around them.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I host a Lovable or Bolt app for free?
Export or sync it to GitHub, then deploy it on Cloudflare Pages or Vercel. Both build from a GitHub repository. Keep the database on Supabase, because static hosts cannot run one.
Is Vercel free for commercial projects?
No. Vercel's Hobby plan is for personal, non-commercial use. A project that takes payments, shows ads or is built for pay counts as commercial, so use Cloudflare or a paid plan.
Why did my Netlify site go offline?
The free plan has a fixed 300 credits a month. When they are used up, Netlify pauses every project on the team until the next billing cycle. Fewer deploys and smaller assets stretch the credits.
Can I get a free domain as a student?
Yes. The GitHub Student Developer Pack lists a free .me domain with SSL for a year and a .tech domain for a year. Without student proof, is-a.dev gives a free subdomain.
