Pay after placement data science course: what Masai offers
The pay after placement programme Masai offers with MICA is Business Analytics with AI, offered with MICA, Ahmedabad. Here is how much of the data science base it builds, what it does not claim and what it costs.
Quick answer: The pay after placement programme Masai offers with MICA is not a data science course. It is the Pay After Placement Certification Programme in Business Analytics with AI, offered with MICA, Ahmedabad. It builds the base that data science rests on (SQL, Python, statistics and applied machine learning) and prepares you for analyst roles. The main fee is due only after you join an eligible job.
Masai resumes its flagship Pay After Placement (PAP) programme in collaboration with MICA, Ahmedabad. If you searched for a pay after placement data science course, this is the PAP programme Masai offers with MICA. This guide sets out what it covers, what it does not claim and what it costs.
Fees and terms as of 4 November 2026.
Is there a pay after placement data science course at Masai?
The PAP programme Masai offers with MICA is the Pay After Placement Certification Programme in Business Analytics with AI. Its named target roles are Business Analyst, Marketing Analyst and Product Analyst. MICA lists it on its own website, and it leads to a MICA Certificate, earned with at least 60% in each unit plus the other completion criteria. The Programme Director is Prof. Aditya Naishadam of MICA.
The format is live online, five days a week, three hours a day, and the programme asks for about 25 hours a week in all. It runs for about 26 weeks (six months) and up to ten months, depending on your pace and mastery. It is for graduates and above, aged 20 to 28, and a laptop is mandatory.
What in the programme builds a data science base
Six units build the tools that data science work starts from. The table shows where each one sits.
| Building block | Where it is taught | What you work with |
|---|---|---|
| Pulling data from databases | Unit 1, Foundation (five weeks) | SQL for analysts, mini project |
| Preparing data | Unit 2, Excel and Python foundations | Advanced functions, Pivot Tables, Power Query, dashboards |
| Analysis in code | Unit 3, Python for data analysis | Pandas, NumPy, cohort analysis |
| Reporting results | Unit 3, Power BI | Data modelling, DAX |
| Statistics and experiments | Unit 4 | Statistics, hypothesis testing, A/B testing |
| Machine learning | Unit 5, Applied machine learning and AI | scikit-learn, model evaluation |
| Working with AI tools | Unit 5 | AI tools used with critical validation |
Python runs through Units 2 and 3. Unit 3 puts Pandas and NumPy to work on cohort analysis, and Unit 5 adds scikit-learn. The guide on SQL vs Python for data analysts compares the two languages, and both appear in this programme.
Unit 4 is where the statistics sits, alongside marketing and product analytics. Unit 5 is where machine learning starts: you work with scikit-learn, learn to evaluate models and check AI output critically.
What the programme does not claim
- It prepares you for analyst roles. Data scientist is not among its named target roles.
- Machine learning is one unit of six. Unit 5 is applied: scikit-learn and model evaluation, not a full data science curriculum.
- The credential is a MICA Certificate from this programme, not a data science certificate.
- Placement is not guaranteed. Masai provides placement support and access to opportunities.
From analyst to data scientist: the route in steps
The route from this programme to data science runs in steps.
- Complete the programme and build the analyst base: SQL, Python, statistics and a BI tool.
- Secure an eligible offer through placement and join.
- Spend time on real business data, using SQL and Python on live questions.
- Deepen what Unit 5 introduced: more statistics, more machine learning, and projects of your own.
- Move towards modelling-heavy work, in your company or in a new role.
Three Masai guides cover the route in more detail: data analyst to data scientist, business analytics vs data science and data analytics vs AI and ML.
What you pay, and when
Masai's earlier PAP programmes ran without an upfront fee. This one asks for three small payments before a job, all non-refundable:
| Payment | When | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Qualifier test | At the start | ₹99 |
| Enrolment | At counselling, to hold your seat | ₹10,000 plus GST |
| Elevate | Only if you reach Unit 6 (food, stay and travel not included) | ₹5,000 |
That is ₹99 + ₹10,000 + ₹5,000 = ₹15,099 plus GST if you reach Elevate. The PAP fee is due only after an eligible placement, and it depends on your placement CTC:
| Placement CTC | PAP fee | One-time total | 36 EMIs |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹3.00 to ₹4.99 LPA | ₹1,80,000 | ₹15,099 + ₹1,80,000 = ₹1,95,099 | ₹6,944 x 36 = ₹2,49,984 |
| ₹5.00 LPA and above | ₹2,50,000 | ₹15,099 + ₹2,50,000 = ₹2,65,099 | ₹9,722 x 36 = ₹3,49,992 |
GST is extra where it applies. EMIs run through NBFC partners, and the EMI route costs more in total: ₹69,984 more than the one-time fee in the first band and ₹99,992 more in the second, with subvention cost extra where it applies. A full breakdown of the fees and EMI sums sets out every outcome.
The fee falls due one month after you join an eligible job, which is an offer at or above the minimum CTC in your agreement, typically from ₹3 LPA. You cannot reject an eligible offer, and company and location preferences are not accepted. A job you find yourself still triggers the fee. If you met every requirement, took part in placements, kept the Code of Conduct and Masai could not place you in an eligible role, the PAP fee is not triggered. What you already paid is not refunded. Leaving the programme or being removed from it may bring a drop-off fee. The guide on when you pay in pay after placement covers the trigger in full.
To continue after the Foundation Unit you need 90% attendance, 80% assignment completion, 60% in assessments, all required projects and a clean Code of Conduct record. Entry to Unit 2 also needs a CIBIL score of 700 or above, a signed Placement Agreement and your documents.
Masai's placement record and hiring partners
Masai's record to date stands at a 94% placement rate, an average alumni salary of ₹6.9 LPA and a highest package of ₹36 LPA, with 4,000+ hiring partners and 10,000+ graduates placed in top companies. Placement figures as published on masaischool.com on 4 November 2026.
These figures describe Masai's programmes to date, not the MICA Business Analytics with AI programme, whose first learners have yet to complete it.
They are history, not a promise, and they do not set the pay for any particular role. Masai's hiring partners include IBM, Capgemini, GlobalLogic, Paytm, BharatPe, smallcase and Salesken, and you can browse more on the Masai placements page. Placement preparation for this programme begins in the last weeks of learning. Elevate, the in-person unit in Bengaluru, then covers resume building, LinkedIn profile optimisation, mock interviews, interview preparation and communication skills training.
