You can attend in person at the Powai campus (MBA-PGPM, Rs 18,00,000 on the annual plan) or through live virtual classes at outreach centres in Pune, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad (MBA-ePGPM, Rs 14,50,000). The January 2027 batch admits through the IMAT on 08 November 2026 or a valid CAT, GMAT or GRE score.

PGPM vs ePGPM: same degree, different room
The two variants share the curriculum, the faculty and the degree. What differs is where you sit on Saturday morning and what the certificate says.
- MBA-PGPM means offline classes at the IIM Mumbai campus in Powai. The certificate reads "MBA-PGPM".
- MBA-ePGPM means live virtual interactive classes delivered at IIM Mumbai outreach centres in five cities: Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi NCR. The certificate reads "MBA-ePGPM".
The word "live" matters. This is not a recorded-video programme you watch at midnight: classes follow the weekend timetable and the attendance rules below apply equally. The outreach format trades the campus experience for a shorter commute and a lower fee, not the schedule. The page does not publish centre addresses or say whether outreach participants visit Powai, so ask the admissions team (execed@iimmumbai.ac.in) if either matters to you.
Curriculum: the six modules
Across two years you complete 16 core courses and 16 electives, a group project in the first year and a two-stage capstone in the second. Electives are offered in finance, marketing, operations, analytics and HR, with specialisation in year two.
| Module | Core courses and milestones |
|---|---|
| 1 | Marketing Management; Managerial Communication; Financial Reporting and Accounting; Microeconomics for Managers; Optimization and Decision Techniques (OR); one elective |
| 2 | Operations Management; Organisational Behaviour and HRM; Corporate Finance; Strategic Management; B2B Marketing; one elective |
| 3 | Data Science for Managerial Decisions; ESG Analytics; Macroeconomics; Digital Marketing; one elective; Group Project |
| 4 | Supply Chain Management; four electives; Capstone Stage 1 |
| 5 | Managing Negotiations; five electives |
| 6 | Four electives; Capstone Stage 2 |
The first three modules are almost entirely core: this is where a non-commerce graduate catches up on accounting, economics and finance, and where everyone meets the quantitative courses (Optimization and Decision Techniques, Data Science for Managerial Decisions) that reflect IIM Mumbai's operations and analytics heritage. From Module 4 electives dominate, which is where you build your specialisation. Expect project work in both years: the group project sits in year one and the two-stage capstone in year two.
Attendance, leave and grading rules
These rules are published on the programme page and are stricter than many expect from a weekend programme.
- Minimum attendance is 75 percent and mandatory.
- 65 to 75 percent: one grade down.
- 50 to 65 percent: two grades down.
- Below 50 percent: F grade, and you are debarred from the examination.
- Leave of absence: up to 4 of 20 lectures; medical leave up to 2 of 20 lectures, with documentation.
Evaluation is continuous: 40 percent on continuous work (assignments, quizzes, cases, participation, presentations and projects), 20 percent on a mid-term and 40 percent on a module-end examination. You cannot cram for one exam. If your job involves frequent weekend travel or month-end work that spills into Saturdays, model your realistic attendance before applying.
Fees: Mumbai campus vs outreach centres
The fee depends on which variant you attend and whether you pay annually or module-wise. All figures are inclusive of taxes.
| Plan | Mumbai campus (MBA-PGPM) | Outreach centres (MBA-ePGPM) |
|---|---|---|
| Annual plan | Rs 18,00,000 = Rs 1,00,000 seat-securing + Rs 8,50,000 + Rs 8,50,000 | Rs 14,50,000 = Rs 1,00,000 seat-securing + Rs 7,00,000 + Rs 6,50,000 |
| Module-wise plan | Rs 19,00,000 = Rs 1,00,000 seat-securing + 4 x Rs 4,50,000 | Rs 15,00,000 = Rs 1,00,000 seat-securing + 4 x Rs 3,50,000 |
| Application fee | Rs 3,000, non-refundable | Rs 3,000, non-refundable |
| Caution deposit | Rs 50,000, refundable | Rs 50,000, refundable |
Paying module-wise costs Rs 1,00,000 more in Mumbai and Rs 50,000 more at an outreach centre, the price of spreading the cash flow. On the outreach figure: the fee table shows Rs 14,50,000 and Rs 15,00,000, while an FAQ on the same site quotes a slightly different total. This guide uses the fee table; confirm the current figure with the admissions team before paying.
Refund rules: withdraw before the last fee-payment date and you receive what you paid minus Rs 1,000; after the deadline but before classes, the Rs 1,00,000 seat amount is forfeited and the balance refunded; after classes begin, only the caution money comes back. Requests go in writing to execed@iimmumbai.ac.in. The page does not mention scholarships, so budget for the full amount. For how these numbers compare with other IIMs, see Executive MBA fees in India.
Admission: eligibility, IMAT and the timeline
You need graduation in any discipline and at least 2 years of relevant post-graduation work experience. CAT is not mandatory: take IIM Mumbai's online, home-proctored IMAT on 08 November 2026 or submit a valid CAT, GMAT or GRE score. The IMAT 2026 guide explains what is known about the test and how to prepare.

| Full fee payment deadline | 20 December 2026 |
| Batch begins | January 2027 |
The page states the institute's reservation policy: NC-OBC 27 percent, SC 15 percent, ST 7.5 percent, EWS up to 10 percent and PwD 5 percent (benchmark disability of 40 percent or more under the RPwD Act, 2016), and notes that the institute may change its admission policy at any stage. The number of seats is not published.
The weekend MBA city by city
Curriculum, faculty, schedule, attendance rules and degree are the same in all six cities; the fee and the certificate wording differ as described above. The programme page does not publish centre addresses, so the sections below describe the format, not the venue.
Weekend MBA in Mumbai: the Powai campus
Mumbai is the only city where you attend in person. Classes run on Saturdays and Sundays at the IIM Mumbai campus in Powai, the site the institute has occupied since 1963. The fee is Rs 18,00,000 on the annual plan or Rs 19,00,000 module-wise, and the certificate reads MBA-PGPM. If being on an IIM campus every weekend is part of what you are paying for, this is the variant to choose.
Weekend MBA in Pune
Pune is one of the five outreach centres for the MBA-ePGPM. You attend live virtual interactive classes on the weekend timetable from the Pune centre and pay Rs 14,50,000 (annual plan) or Rs 15,00,000 (module-wise). The certificate reads MBA-ePGPM. The saving against the Mumbai campus fee is Rs 3,50,000 on the annual plan.
Weekend MBA in Delhi NCR
Delhi NCR is an outreach centre for the MBA-ePGPM, with the same live virtual weekend classes, six-module curriculum and IIM Mumbai faculty as the campus programme. The fee is Rs 14,50,000 on the annual plan or Rs 15,00,000 module-wise. Applicants weighing this against IIMs closer to home should compare formats and fees in the IIM-by-IIM fee comparison.
Weekend MBA in Bengaluru
Bengaluru is an outreach centre for the MBA-ePGPM. The format suits engineers and product managers who want a general-management MBA without leaving their jobs or the city: live virtual classes on Saturdays and Sundays, an operations and analytics-heavy core, and electives from Module 4. The fee is Rs 14,50,000 (annual) or Rs 15,00,000 (module-wise).
Weekend MBA in Chennai
Chennai is an outreach centre for the MBA-ePGPM. Participants attend the same live virtual weekend classes as the other centres, follow the same 75 percent attendance rule, and sit the same examinations. The fee is Rs 14,50,000 on the annual plan or Rs 15,00,000 module-wise, inclusive of taxes, and the certificate reads MBA-ePGPM.
Weekend MBA in Hyderabad
Hyderabad is the fifth outreach centre for the MBA-ePGPM. The two-year weekend schedule, six modules, capstone and IIM Mumbai degree are identical to the campus programme; delivery is live virtual and the fee is Rs 14,50,000 (annual) or Rs 15,00,000 (module-wise). As with every centre, confirm the venue and fee with execed@iimmumbai.ac.in before applying.
Who should apply, and who should not
This programme fits you if you have at least two years of relevant experience, want a general-management MBA from an IIM while keeping your job, can commit most weekends for two years, and can fund Rs 14,50,000 to Rs 19,00,000 without relying on a placement outcome.
Think twice if your work regularly takes your weekends, because the 75 percent attendance rule is enforced through grades; if you expect campus placements, because the page makes no placement claims; if you want a one-year format (IIM Mumbai's one-year weekend option is the sector-specific Executive MBA in Wealth Management); or if you want an online MBA you can study at odd hours, because the ePGPM is live and scheduled.
A mini-scenario: a 30-year-old analyst at an IT services firm in Bengaluru with five years' experience and no CAT score wants to move into product management. He applies for the MBA-ePGPM at the Bengaluru centre, takes the IMAT on 08 November 2026, and if admitted pays Rs 1,00,000 by 11 December and the first annual instalment of Rs 7,00,000 by 20 December 2026. For two years his weekends belong to the programme, and from Module 4 he picks analytics and marketing electives. Whether the degree moves his career depends on what he does with it, not on a placement cell; is an executive MBA from an IIM worth it works through that question.
