Executive MBA fees in India run from about Rs 11 lakh for a two-year blended IIM degree to Rs 36.20 lakh and more for a one-year full-time MBA at IIM Ahmedabad, before GST where it applies. IIM Mumbai's weekend MBA-PGPM is Rs 18,00,000 inclusive of taxes at the Mumbai campus and Rs 14,50,000 at its outreach centres for the January 2027 batch.
Those two sentences hide a lot: institutes publish fees for different batch years, some include GST and some never mention it, and a few programmes that look like MBAs award a diploma or a certificate. This guide puts every figure that was readable on an official page on 29 October 2026 into one table. "GST not stated" means the page is silent on tax. IIM Bangalore's PGPEM, IIM Calcutta's MBAEx and IIM Indore's PGPMX had no fee on their official pages, so they are not in the table.

IIM Raipur and IIM Rohtak publish no current fee; IIM Calcutta has no weekend MBA. IIM Mumbai's full-time MBA (Creative Industries), Rs 21,00,000 inclusive of taxes, admits fresh graduates and sits outside this comparison; the IIM Mumbai executive MBA overview covers it.
What drives the fee differences
Full-time residential costs the most. The one-year programmes (IIM Ahmedabad Rs 36.20 lakh, IIM Indore Rs 26,76,800, IIM Lucknow IPMX Rs 26 lakh, IIM Shillong Rs 22,76,500) compress teaching into twelve months, include accommodation, and carry a fee no page prints: a year without salary.
Weekend and blended degrees cluster between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 19 lakh. You keep your salary and there is no hostel. Within the band, the premium tracks how much teaching is in person at a metro campus and whether taxes are inside the number: IIM Mumbai's Rs 18,00,000 at Powai is fully on campus with taxes included; IIM Lucknow's Rs 11,00,000 is alternate weekends in Noida with taxes to add.
Degree, diploma or certificate. IIMs are degree-granting institutions, and most rows say "MBA degree". The exceptions: IIM Mumbai's Public Policy programme (Rs 8,75,000) awards a Post Graduate Diploma, its entrepreneurship programme (Rs 6,00,000) is a Post Graduate Program for Executives, and its PGDEx-VLFM with IIT Delhi (Rs 16,32,000 across both institutes) is a diploma. ISB's PGP PRO, Rs 39,96,080 including GST and deposit for 2027-28, is by its own FAQ a certification, not a degree. A diploma is not a bad buy; compare on content and network.
GST is the quiet 18 percent. Where a page says "plus applicable taxes", Rs 11,00,000 becomes Rs 12,98,000 and Rs 15,00,000 becomes Rs 17,70,000. Where a page is silent, ask.
Batch year and instalment plans. A 2024-25 figure (IIM Shillong PGPEx) or a 2025-26 figure (IIM Bangalore EPGP) will be revised before you enrol. Instalments change totals too: IIM Mumbai's MBA-PGPM costs Rs 1,00,000 more module-wise than annually, and SPJIMR's PGEMP gives Rs 20,000 off for a lump sum.
The "cheapest IIM executive MBA" question, answered carefully
Among verified official fees, the lowest IIM total is IIM Mumbai's PGPEx-EIM at Rs 6,00,000, but it is a one-year entrepreneurship programme, not an MBA. The lowest verified two-year MBA degrees are IIM Lucknow's PGPWE at Rs 11,00,000 plus taxes, IIM Jammu at Rs 11,72,650 and IIM Visakhapatnam at Rs 11,90,000; institutes with no published fee could change that order. Beyond the IIMs, NMIMS Mumbai's weekend NEX MBA was Rs 8 lakh for its 2025 batch and SPJIMR's PGEMP is Rs 10,45,000 plus taxes.
Hidden costs that do not appear in the fee column
- Caution deposits. Rs 50,000 at IIM Mumbai (MBA-PGPM) and IIM Udaipur EMBA; Rs 25,000 for IIM Mumbai's EIM; Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000 elsewhere. Refundable, but needed up front.
- Application fees. Rs 3,000 at IIM Mumbai, Rs 2,000 at IIM Kozhikode EPGP, Rs 1,000 plus GST at IIM Sambalpur. Non-refundable.
- Immersion travel and stay. IIM Mumbai's entrepreneurship programme has two campus immersions and its public policy programme four, at the participant's cost. IIM Lucknow's PGPWE prices its international immersion at about Rs 4.5 lakh, IIM Bangalore's EPGP at an indicative Rs 5,50,000.
- Meals and alumni fees. IIM Lucknow lists Rs 6,000 per term for meals; alumni fees of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 sit inside some totals and not others.

How IIM Mumbai's fees sit in this picture
IIM Mumbai, formerly NITIE and ranked 6th in the NIRF 2025 Management Rankings, quotes its MBA and entrepreneurship fees inclusive of taxes (the public policy page lists its fee without a tax note): the MBA-PGPM weekend MBA at Rs 18,00,000 in Powai or Rs 14,50,000 at outreach centres on the annual plan (see the detailed MBA-PGPM guide), the Executive MBA in Wealth Management at Rs 15,00,000, whose FAQ states that placement support is not offered, the entrepreneurship programme at Rs 6,00,000 and the public policy programme at Rs 8,75,000. The application fee is Rs 3,000, no page mentions scholarships, and after classes begin only the caution money is refundable. A worked example: two offers, one budget
Take a 34-year-old finance manager in Pune with eight years' experience and Rs 20 lakh to spend over two years, weighing IIM Mumbai's MBA-ePGPM in Pune against a one-year full-time programme elsewhere priced around Rs 26 lakh. The weekend route costs Rs 14,50,000 inclusive of taxes, plus Rs 3,000 to apply, a Rs 50,000 refundable deposit and local travel, with his salary intact. The full-time route costs Rs 26 lakh or more, possibly plus GST, plus twelve months of foregone pay. The real gap is Rs 11.5 lakh plus a year's salary; only the weekend programme fits his budget.
