Online PGP in BuildStack AI by Vishlesan i-Hub IIT, Patna

takeaways

What you will walk away with.

Not just a certificate on a shelf but a portfolio, a vocabulary, and a leadership posture. Four capability shifts that change how your organisation sees you.

Full-Stack Product Engineering

Build, test, deploy, and instrument real full-stack products end-to-end - JavaScript and Python, real databases, real deployments - the same craft Indian product startups hire for.

AI-Native Coding Discipline

Cursor and Claude Code as daily coding partners, with discipline to evaluate AI-generated code critically and habits that are now industry standard for engineers.

Software 3.0 in Production

LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, vector databases, MCP servers, and basic agent builds - building with AI, not just consuming it.

A Portfolio That Stands Out

8 shipped portfolio artifacts ending in a real Indian-brand capstone graded by faculty and industry mentors - the difference between college.

Pedagogy

How You Learn

Executive-style pedagogy for working professionals

Live Online Sessions

3 hours/week of structured live instruction with practitioner faculty.

Project-Based Learning

8 portfolio-grade projects on real Indian-brand contexts.

AI-Native Workflow

Cursor and Claude Code as coding partners from Week 1.

Graded Capstone Project

End-to-end real-brand product graded by IIT Patna faculty and industry mentors.

Continuous DSA Strand

Algorithmic thinking woven through every phase, peaking in I5.

Pathways

See where this programme takes you.

Designed for where you are right now. Four specialised pathways, each built for your exact background, ambition, and career inflection point.

STARTING POINT

Tech Freshers

You're ready to switch to engineering with AI-native workflows that define software building today.

OperationsSupportMarketingSales
Mid-career tech professional

CURRENT ROLE

Final-year CS / IT / Engineering students, Recent CS Graduates, Junior Developers (0-1 yr)

EXPERIENCE

CS / IT students and recent graduates with 0-1 yrs experience

CURRENT WORK

You can write code in one language. You've built college projects and pushed code to GitHub, but never shipped a product.

PAIN POINTS

Your college projects lack polish. You've not deployed to a live URL. Your portfolio doesn't reflect the full-stack engineering with AI tools that startups expect.

GOAL

A product engineering internship while in college, or a first full-time SDE / Junior Product Engineer role with a portfolio that proves you can ship real products end-to-end.

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO

Ship a deployed full-stack app, write JavaScript and Python comfortably, and use AI as a daily coding partner.

WHAT YOU ALREADY KNOW

  • Computational thinking and basic problem decomposition
  • Exposure to data structures and algorithms (from CS coursework)
  • Working comfort with at least one programming language
  • Basic Git, command line, and how the web works

What You'll Master

  • F4: AI as a Coding Partner - Cursor and Claude Code with the discipline to evaluate AI-generated code critically
  • F5-F7: Production-grade React + FastAPI + PostgreSQL stack - the depth most college projects do not reach
  • F8: Foundation Studio - your first publicly deployed full-stack product with pull request history

YOUR FOCUS

  • Move from "I can write code" to "I can ship real products" - learning the deployment, code review, and production hygiene that most CS degrees do not cover.
  • Use AI for business thinking, not just coding

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO

Build, test, deploy, and instrument production-grade full-stack apps with AI integrations (LLM APIs, RAG, agents).

WHAT YOU'LL MASTER

  • C1: Product Thinking & Design Fluency - Jobs-to-be-Done user research, spec writing, Figma, v0 by Vercel
  • C2: Advanced Frontend (React + Next.js) - server components, performance
  • C3: Advanced Backend (Python deep) - async workflows, authentication, clean architecture
  • C4: Database Depth - Postgres advanced, Redis caching, query optimisation
  • C5: Testing & Quality - Pytest, Playwright, verifying AI-generated code
  • C6: Deployment & Operations - Docker, AWS Free Tier, GitHub Actions for continuous integration and deployment
  • C7: Building with AI in Production (Software 3.0) large language model (LLM) APIs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Model ContextProtocol (MCP) basics, and AI agent builds
  • Core Integration Sprint (1 week) - end-to-end product in 1-week timebox

YOUR SHIFT

  • You're no longer "the CS student who can code" - you're the engineer who ships
  • You can read a vague PM brief and turn it into a product requirements document, a design, and a working product
  • You can explain and discuss technical trade-offs in code review with senior engineers

YOUR PROJECTS

  • Razorpay-Style Payment Integration Demo - Python + React, webhooks, admin dashboard
  • CRED Knowledge-Base RAG System - RAG over RBI guidelines with retrieval accuracy metrics
  • Nykaa PDP Conversion Critique + A/B Test Design - 5 conversion-killers, Figma mocks
  • Real-Time Cricket Score Aggregator - WebSockets, Postgres, React with reconnection

TOOLS YOU'LL USE

TypeScriptNext.jsRedisDockerAWS Free TierGitHub ActionsPytestPlaywrightLangChainChromaMCPOpenAI/Claude APIsFigmav0 by Vercel

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO

Reason about systems, build infrastructure for AI agents, and explain your career change with project evidence backed by real artifacts.

WHAT YOU'LL MASTER

  • I1: System Design for Modern Engineers - high-level and low-level system design, scaling, caching, queues
  • I2: Building Partial-Autonomy Products - products where AI generates and humans verify, with thoughtful human-AI interaction design
  • I3: Building for Agents - Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, llms.txt files, and agent-readable infrastructure
  • I4: Production Hygiene - logs, traces, metrics, security fundamentals
  • I5: DSA & Algorithmic Problem Solving - arrays, trees, graphs, dynamic programming, time-complexity reasoning
  • Final Capstone (2 weeks) - real Indian-brand brief, end-to-end ownership, graded by IIT Patna faculty and industry mentors

YOUR UNIQUE VALUE

  • You can reason about system design trade-offs (both high-level architecture and low-level details) in fresher technical interviews
  • You can build infrastructure that AI agents can read (MCP servers and llms.txt files), a topic most freshers have not yet encountered
  • Your data structures and algorithms (DSA) practice is targeted at entry-level technical interviews, not abstract competitive coding
  • Your capstone is a graded, real-brand product - not a tutorial-following exercise

YOUR PROJECTS

  • PhonePe merchant-health dashboard,  Zerodha portfolio analytics, Swiggy operator dashboard, Cred lifecycle automation, or Razorpay-style fintech ops tool.
  • Spec → Figma → Python backend → React frontend → AI integrations (LLM APIs, RAG, agents) (RAG / agents / MCP) → tests → AWS deploy with continuous integration and deployment → observability.
