The pandemic has affected each of us in some way. It forced us all to take different paths in our life to chase our dreams, from academics to careers. But Neha's story is different from those. She is grateful that the pandemic prevented her from pursuing an MBA at this point in time.

Neha was born in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. She finished her education from Kendriya Vidyalaya. Neha wanted to take Computer Science in her last two years of high school, but her parents wouldn't let her because there were no other girls taking it.

After finishing high school, she went to Kanpur University to get her BSc. When Neha was about to start her MBA at AIMT in Greater Noida, a pandemic hit the country which stopped her from going to college.

After extensive research, Neha joined Masai. After completing her full-stack web development course, she joined Blitz Growth as an SDE-1. It was the pandemic that brought her closer to her dreams. Recently, Neha joined us to talk about her journey and share some insights. Here are a few excerpts from our insightful conversation.

What impressed you the most about Masai?

The most impressive thing about Masai to me is the way it helps people. Since the first session, everyone has been helpful and supportive, from mentors to IAs to the placement team.

Since I was a Biology student, I had zero knowledge of software and coding. But, the course started from such a basic level that I never felt left out. And the mentors would answer all the questions ‌patiently.

Whenever we felt demotivated, the IAs (Instructional Associates) were there to motivate us and guide us through the tough times. That had been immensely helpful. If it wasn’t for the IAs, a lot of students would have left the course mid-way.

What are your thoughts on 9-9-6 at Masai?

It is the perfect system that exists for learning effectively and quickly. Masai’s 9-9-6 training method is a tried and tested method learning that has helped many students. If students want to learn a lot in just seven months, they will have to work hard.

The military-style 9-9-6 training prepared me well for the job. It made us highly disciplined and taught us time management. This will stay with us forever.

How have Construct Weeks helped you?

I was leading the team during Construct Weeks and that has helped me a lot to hone my leadership skills. Those projects were always fun to work on. We learned about real-life scenarios and that prepared us for real projects at a job.

We had made a clone of the Realme website and stood second during that week. It was a joyful experience.

How was the placement process at Masai?

Before Blitz Growth hired me as a software engineer, I had interviewed for eight other companies. When so many companies turned me down, it was hard for me to keep going. But the placements team helped me find a job and were always there to support and encourage me.

My parents and other family members were happy that I had accomplished what I had set out to do.

Do you think it is worth paying three lakhs to Masai?

I think the course and the accompanying support system are well worth the investment. I think ‌Masai gets a return of three lakhs after putting so many resources into us.

At Masai, they put students in charge of earning money, while their parents are relieved of the task of providing for their children. I like that a lot. This makes students accountable.

What is your message to the aspiring developers studying at Masai and others who want to join Masai?

My advice to the students at Masai is to never give up hope, no matter what happens or how hard things get. Just trust Masai, and if you work hard, you will get where you want to go.

My message to students who want to join Masai is that they should join Masai right away. I got a job even though I didn't have a degree in the field, so you can too. Stop worrying and start going after your dreams.

Neha ends the interview while recalling a cheerful moment when her team won the second prize and cash rewards during Construct Week. She also mentions that two of her friends joined Masai after her recommendation.
