Shubham's Reflections on Masai School's Impact

Shubham, a native of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh, has a remarkable success story that inspires us all.

After completing his Bachelor's in Commerce in 2017, he faced challenges while preparing for government exams. However, the pandemic became a turning point for him.

It was during this period that he decided to take charge of his future and explore new horizons. He embarked on a journey of self-discovery, starting with odd jobs.

After numerous rounds of trial and error, Shubham struck gold when he came across Masai. At Masai, he embarked on a transformative journey.

Today, he works at Imaginnovate Tech Solutions, where he constantly pushes boundaries and develops new skills. Shubham's story teaches us the importance of resilience and determination in pursuing our dreams.

Discovering Masai

Shubham's introduction to Masai was a game-changer in his career. While exploring YouTube, he stumbled upon an exciting video advertisement that revealed a world of coding and endless possibilities.

Shubham's interest in programming sparked during his 12th grade when he was introduced to the "Internet Practices" subject. This subject allowed him to explore coding, and learn Java and SQL.

However, being from a commerce background, he couldn't pursue engineering and get better at programming.

"I got a mail from Masai that you are selected and then I was like OK, now I'm selected now I can do this thing for my life now."

But fate had other plans. Shubham decided to take the Masai School Aptitude Test (MSAT) with hope in his heart. When he received an email confirming his selection into the Masai Curriculum, he could hardly believe it.

Parents' Reaction

Shubham who lives with his mother, had the freedom to make his own decisions. While his mother may not be well-versed in the world of technology, she always had his best interests at heart.

When Shubham shared his decision to join Masai with her, she wholeheartedly embraced it. Her unwavering support showed how much she valued his happiness and growth above all else.

"She's not aware of all these things out there and she's just saying, OK, whatever you want to do, if it's good for your life you can do."

9-9-6 Experience

Shubham found immense value in the 9-9-6 schedule of Masai, and it became a facilitator in his personal growth. The structure allowed him to establish a comfortable routine, starting his day at 6 AM and attending Masai classes until bedtime between 10-11 PM.

This consistent schedule extended throughout the entire week, with any remaining work addressed during the weekends. Rarely did he find himself staying up late at night within the Masai curriculum.

Additionally, Shubham cherished the increasing difficulty of the curriculum. As the challenges grew, he found himself pushing his boundaries and testing his limits.

"Because in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd units, the questions are just easy, and 4th, 5th, and 6th units, they are just high-level language. OK. High-level questions are there. So at that time, I'm just pushing myself, what are, what are my limits and just, just exploring my limits."

9-9-6 Experience

Shubham's experience with the 9-9-6 schedule at Masai was nothing short of transformative, serving as a pivotal catalyst for his personal growth and development. This structured routine became the cornerstone of his daily life, instilling discipline and focus in his journey.

His days began promptly at 6 AM, with unwavering commitment to his studies and classes at Masai, a rigorous commitment that persisted until bedtime, typically between 10 and 11 PM. This consistency provided him with a sense of stability and purpose that allowed him to make the most of each day. What's more, the structured nature of the 9-9-6 schedule meant that he rarely found himself burning the midnight oil within the Masai curriculum. This balance between intensive learning and adequate rest was crucial to his overall well-being.

One aspect of the Masai experience that Shubham particularly treasured was the increasing difficulty of the curriculum as he progressed. As he navigated through the different units, he encountered a deliberate escalation in the complexity of the challenges presented. Compelled to step out of his comfort zone by this intentional progression, he pushed the boundaries of his knowledge and abilities.

Describing this experience eloquently, Shubham noted, "In the first, second, and third units, the questions were simply easy, while the fourth, fifth, and sixth units presented high-level language challenges. " There are several extremely high questions. So at the time, I was just pushing myself to see what my limitations were and just explore them." This journey of self-discovery through progressively challenging coursework not only honed his technical skills but also fortified his resilience, determination, and capacity to tackle complex problems head-on.

Construct Week Experience

Masai's construct week projects were pivotal for Shubham, providing valuable lessons and personal growth. In his first project, he led the team, dividing tasks based on expertise and effectively communicating. These experiences taught him leadership, teamwork, and delegation skills.

Subsequent weeks ran more smoothly, but during the challenging back-end Java batch, Shubham faced his toughest test. However, despite the challenging circumstances, communication within the team remained strong, allowing them to better manage the situation.

These experiences taught Shubham teamwork, problem-solving, and accountability. Now at Imaginnovate, these lessons serve him well in his role, working with supportive teammates and an understanding manager.

"So what I understood is it (construct week projects) taught me how to work in team, basically, how to take extra responsibilities or how to fill in space for somebody, right? And how to take that load suddenly if it comes."
"So for me, real job is much easier than construct week project."

Placement Experience

Shubham's placement experience at Masai was a rollercoaster ride filled with challenges and valuable lessons. Although he was shortlisted for 9-10 companies, making it to the final rounds in 4-5 of them, he, unfortunately, didn't receive an offer from any.

However, he did receive a job offer from one company, but after careful consideration, he decided not to accept it as it didn't align with his expectations and aspirations.

In parallel to his efforts with the companies, Shubham actively applied for jobs on LinkedIn. Through this platform, he ultimately secured a position at Imaginnovate.

Upon receiving the placement news, Shubham's mother was overjoyed. She recognized the value this opportunity would bring to his life and wholeheartedly supported his decision to accept the job offer. Her unwavering belief in his potential further fueled his determination to succeed.
